Summary
To summarize, the colonist in the New World, decided they no longer wanted to be ruled by a monarch far away. They were sick of being unfairly taxed. So they revolted. There was the Revloutionary War, and then America gained its freedom. So the founders needed to set up rules, laws, and a government structure. First came the Declaration of Independence. Then the Articles of Confederation. But as the states grew, with more representatives. A stronger central government was needed, one that would not allow one branch of government to ever gain too much power. And one that would protect the people from being harmed or hurt, or treated unfairly. That is what the Delegates did in the Constitutional Convention, they met , saw that more needed to be done, closed the doors and didn’t stop debating until the framework of our government was complete, as well as the right’s and liberty’s that Americans still enjoy today.
